I will try to post pics... but you know how "good" I am at that :geek-blush:

I wanna make something inspired by avatar but I don't know what... Any tips? :heeyy:

And while you're thinking on that, you can watch this short little clip:

So I was at the forge today just to help the smith to "clean up" the shop a bit before starting on thursday. Now, as we talked a bit about what to do when I start and a few other things, she asked me something I didn't expect her to say... :skeptical:

Her: "Have you watched Battlestar Galactica?"

Me: "Uhm... Yes..."

Her: "Did you like it?"

Me: "Uhm... Yes..."

Her: *jumping*

She was happy that she now can talk about the show with someone now! :muhaha:

I think I'm gonna enjoy this place! :heeyy:

Oh, I love Battlestar Gallactica both old and new. :D :D I was bummed when they cancelled it.

I'm envious. When I look around at my workplace it's like I have been beamed into "Clueless part 5" or something.

Elyris, yes, that is so sad. Even more, we get surprised when someone doesn't fit that pattern :(

Indeed it is and yes, they are (although they call people like me 'freaks' and the whole workplace 'freakshow').

Yeah I have a similar feeling in my work environment. I work with all women, no offense girls, and all they talk about is dancing with the stars and other mindless garbage. Thank Eywa for the IT department. Its full of adult nerds such as myself so I can relate a lot more to them. We always talk about the Walking Dead and make Star Wars references and all that. Its awesome. haha Somehow they don't understand why I like Avatar so much, which is disheartening but that's why I have you guys. :)

Hey Spuid :)

( I just noticed that this isn't tne entrance.)

Well - I wish I could say that of my work too. Not one person there to really talk with (but maybe it isn't even encouraged anymore. All they talk about is 'networking, which degrades social interaction ot a matter of career-suport. We live in very weird times.)

Huh, yeah... if there are any closet sci fi and fantasy fans in my workplace they still have to come out of said closet.

Before I changed it to the Avatar theme I used to have a snippet out of the Lord of the Rings soundtrack as a ringtone on my phone.

Of all the people around me only ONE of them recognized the music.

Nobody recognized the Avatar theme until now.

So, Xa, you're actually in a very lucky position there :geek:

Yeah another one of the accounting departments here kind of has that policy going on. The supervisor in there doesn't like anyone talking unless its about work. Screw that. I'm not that kind of supervisor. You can get your work done and still not make your day completely boring and miserable.

From my own work experience: So true! I'd even say you get your work done better when you're not feeling bored and miserable.
Imho a nice chat here and there is the oil that makes the work engine run smoother.

What people under my command talk about while at work is not my business as long as:

1. It doesn't negatively affect their performance
2. It doesn't scare away the customers
3. Annoys me (lol, not really)

Meh, freakshow. So it is better to be dumb, ignorant, semi-literate, I guess. Well, since we have mostly ladies here, I won't use any rude words for people who label us as "freaks".

Yeah it'll be good. The hypothyrodism was making him very hungry despite regular feedings, and queasy too.

Positive: First real day of spring - sitting outside in the sun just in a long-sleeved t-shirt, sipping coffee, reading... and then heading home with the roof of the car down

I am confident that I'll be getting a decent tax refund this year. Not so happy it was taken in the first place but that's another discussion.
