Re: Things that cause us pain
Nah, Elyris, you didn't kill the forum. Regarding being underpaid... well, long story so let me cut it short. 2 months ago, I got a job at one local company selling top-of-the-line stationeries, travel bags, office furniture etc. I am the only person handling the entire IT infrastructure, so without me (or someone else in my position), they are screwed. Therefore, they won't mess much with what they pay me. But others? Not that much. People are being owed months worth of salary, they are underpaid etc. So, trust me, medical insurance is not always paid and paid on time (so medical assistance can be refused or you have to pay), it could be far worse...

Nope, you didn't kill anything. I just was too sick those last few days to do anything else but sleep or do some passive binge watching on TV. No brainz left for anything constructive...

Re: Things that cause us pain
Every time I try to talk to other about how I feel it seems it ends with them being fed up and insulting me (mostly for not finally saying yes to their suggestions).
Going ingame, being stupid enouhg (again) to participate in chat and in the end reading "I blcoked her. No one should associate with such a character except he wants to feel down an kill himself in the end." - being clear about hte fact that I can read this for sure - it hurts.
I feel lonely so I still uncousiously search for company, but that's what coming out of this.
I feel so tired.

Re: Things that cause us pain
This reminds me of every time I've been an asshole in this forum
For that I am sorry.
All of this makes me think a bit more of how long we all have known each other here. It's been 9 years now since I joined naviblue! But the strangest thing, and the saddest, about it is that I don't know any of you in a way. Sure, we've had a few good laughs, heavy conversations, been messing around and been at each others throats, but that's all in text! I have never spoken a word to anyone here IRL, not even over skype or any other chat.
And yeah, I don't have any other friends in my area, no one to talk to, well I got my fiancé, but no one other than her. The only ones I can/do "talk" with is you guys.
Sorry for rambling about

Re: Things that cause us pain
I'm sad.
One of my co-workers died this weekend. Stepped out of her place, felt dizzy and dropped to the ground, dead.
I've known her for like 15 years, that's how long we were in the same department... she's been just in her early fifties, healthy and all. She left the company 7 weeks ago, planning to do something different with her life... and it feels like yesterday. It's just not fair.
I just can't wrap my mind around it

Hmm. I can't say much. Recently though it seems like people are not getting old anymore. More and more die a rather young age again. Things really seem to deteriorate.
I always tell myself that at least it looks like it was fast.
I don't know how I would react to someone close to me dying, but around me people died a bit more than one might expect (1 teacher, 2 professoers), my grand-counsins partner - all suddenly and before their time. But I guess that's just how it is. You can't help it. In the end everyone goes on with their daily struggles - what else can we do? - and you get used to the situation, so to speak.
I'm sorry I can't say anything cheerful or give solace.

I know, there's not much that can be said about something like that. Things happen... :/

The things is... we all live on the borrowed time. No way to know how much remains until we run out of it.

Re: Things that cause us pain
In your opinion, what is the appropriate punishment for someone who poisons a domestic guardian (or any, for that matter) dog? Of course, we will never find out who did it...
I was just told by my brother that I don't have a dog at home anymore, someone gave him something between 24 and 48 hours ago, and he passed away today.

Someone should really be taken to a rainforest, tied to a tree and honey poured all over him...

Let them work in a dog shelter for a year or two so they learn what dogs really are!

You are too kind as a person.
To me, someone who does that to an animal which is not a threat or food, tomorrow will do the same to you or me without any remorse.

Oh gosh - I am sorry for your loss.
And yes - individuals as well as societies show their true form when you look at how they treat the most vulnerable of them -children ,elderly peoeple, the poor the disabled but first of all (as 'non-human') animals. If that is how some treat other lifeforms it is clear what they just might do if given the opportunity. I will never understand that total disregard for other beings - often coupled with hubris and stupidity ... they all laugh about the unprovoked and unjustified pain of others, never realising it could be them next time around. Where's karma when you need it?

Re: Things that cause us pain
In the history of my family we had many cases where we did not have to raise a little finger to get karma involved. I am somehow happy I can't find out who did it, because I may be tempted to act on it. It is better this way.

Well, then I hope that karma will be a bitch on that person too. What a first-class a-hole there. Just don't know what's going on in those people's minds
I'm so sorry, flighter.

Re: Things that cause us pain
An aqiaintance/friend from dancing who moved some time ago visited suddenly yesterday. As I expected she was already pretty heavy with child - of course. I really can't take that anymore. All around me people are having children (even those where you really have to ask yourself "How" and "Why"). I don't want to leave my aparment anymore. It pains me way too much.

I never wanted to have kids that much, but I know how it feels when a dream slips through your fingers and you can't do anything about it - it just hurts.

I am definately lacking money. But I decided to go there. I have to sell my soul for that (work is sucking all life that remained until now out of me), but that's all that's left.

I am pissed, to say the least.
