4-hour-hairdresser sittings with no even slightly acceptable result.

Wasting time on things without meaning and sense.

Elyris, in Hamburg (yes, I know, quite far from you) near Altona train station, there is a hair salon that could probably handle your kind of hair.

Yup - it's far away and would probably cost a fortune (I really hate having to look on money that much). I simply can't accept the thought that I am forced to go 200km and more to get a decent haircut. That's ridiculous.

Yes, indeed. I don't understand why it is like that at all. The haridressers today said "Well - there's simply no market for that here." ... that#s not even a decent excuse. It's simply complete desniterest in everything not average. The fact that ALL hairdressers who see me for hte first time look at me like they just spotted Nessie doesn't make it any better.


And as a 'plus' my family thinks I'll never 'get a man' (as seemingly nothing else is of any importance) if I continue to look like I do.

Well, look at it this way. For example, my wife has 100% typical African hair, which is totally different comp[ared to typical European hair. It is not just being curly (as opposed to being straight). It is thin, and takes the shape it wants, no matter what. Only once it grows long, very long, it falls down. So, to keep it under control, you have to keep it braided, or use relaxers, which is not common in Europe and most stylists don't know what to do with it. You can't really blame them, since unless you are in a big city, not too many people with African hair roam around.

Yeah - I got that hair (or better 'the improved version: now with more curls!') too. Well - the abundance of stylists who know what to do depends on the country you are in - let's say chances are higher in GB than where your family lives.
I had relaxers for over ten years and finally decided against it - too much money for ruining your health and not having a good hairdo.
If someone knows how to braid (which no one here does) it's definately a plus - it takes a fair amount of time but looks decent for weeks (if done properly).

Suburban residential neighborhood. It's not a place where you'd expect to see a horse.

I heard that!! But not to worry. He finds evidence of a horse. Where I am in Florida we have alligators, Iguanas, Armadillos and large snakes roaming around. With a few black bears thrown in. And that is out of the water....you don't want to know what is IN the water. But then, it's Florida.

If it was me and if I was sure who the owner is, I would just pack it all and drop (without a bag!) at the owner's doorstep, lol.

Had to do all kind of Saturday stuff (grocery shopping, buying my Christmas tree - it still grows and will be delivered on 21st ... and then came the moment when I wanted to go out to the local Christmas market and closed the door of the flat behind me...and the moment the lock made *click* I realized I let the key stick... on the inside of the door!
So I had to call the local lockpicker service, my ex (cause he has a replacement key) and then had to wait until the lockpicker showed up. Tell you something, if you ever decide to do something like that, don't do it on a weekend - it's insanely expensive! But at least the guy did great work for his money; took him a while, but in the end he got the door open and didn't destroy anything in the process.

Ah ja ... I remember a similar situation (with the difference that it was on grandpas birthday and we were just to head off there ... the cakes we made were still inside too). No fun at all.

Yeah I hate that feeling because you always realize it right when the door shuts. I got a spare key made for my house and my truck just to avoid such things. And I still do it sometimes with my truck too. But then its no worry because I just whip out my wallet and there's my spare key.

I did have stored a spare key somewhere... but stupidly I hadn't checked if it really was a fitting spare key.
So when I tried that one I realized that the key for the house fits, but the key for the door to my flat didn't work at all


Pain in the txim of the day: Someone of my neighbours decided that 6:30 in the morning is the perfect time for a really good and noisy fight. So what woke me up was the sound of a slamming door... and another one. And voices shouting. And 10 minutes later the door of the house slammed too...

Having the same habit (to forget the keys) I will have to look for some sort of biometric door lock, lol... So when I shout "Open, you id*ot", it opens

@Kiy: Ah - I had such neighbours once. Fighting at 1:30am, closing the door to the balcony behind each other (resulting in EVERYONE in the whole street being able to 'enjoy') or in the basement (only the whole house). And when they didn't fought they were pretty active each night (in both possible ways) - sometimes it sounded like a small stanpede running upstairs and downstairs.


I don't miss them.

Back at home, people would, accidentally, remove the circuit breakers for their appartments, and the idiots would wonder what the hell happened, lol.

Ugh... wouldn't miss them either.

Luckily it's a rare occurence, I had it only once or twice now in the more than two years I live there.

It still sucks.

This were the same people who constantly drilled something (or sawed or hammered) and finally sent the armchars and the couch flying through the window (from the 5th floor).

Are you serious? Wow... Shocking... at least for your part of the world

Oh, by the way, in the building where my apartment once was, some idiot was throwing bags of trash through the window. Once we discovered who that is, we picked all his trash and dumped it in front of his apartment. That was the last time he did that, lol.
