So true. Well, I used the time to peel and cut up the apples I need for my apple pie... one thing is reliable with crafters: Sooner or later they're taking a break and that's now, so I'm just finishing my document.

Rofl, yeah, I saw that video already today. My personal highlight is the guy jumping out of his car. Traffic? What traffic?

Everything wiht special mention of how I can't seem to get to work (or get up).

Also: The Olympics on ARD/ZDF - it's so bad, so very bad all in all that I can't even start .... I want Eurosport back ... now!
It really sucks, I can't enjoy it at all.

Yepp. It's not even the fact that there's sports somewhere in the media, it's the idea behind it that they assume everyone goes hysterical about who either won a football game or ran the 100meters very fast or threw a spear or whatever else they're doing there.
"Ahhhhh - let's all get excited, we won a medal in whatever!!!" Sorry - I didn't win anything at all. I'm not interested in it and I don't want people to bother me with the stuff as if it'd be a cure for cancer and AIDS the same time.
And I'm definitely highly allergic to those hysterical voices of sports commentators.

Ah, I see. Well: I am with you there. I despise all that nationalistic Tamtam - it annoys the hell out of me. But I actually like to see so many different kind of sports next to each other on a high level, I like seeing the opening and closing ceremonies - what do they come up with, how are the teams dressed (getting worse every time, with out the guy from Tonga - real Sagune material - it would've been a total disaster) and so on. I am not a fan of competition wiht gritted teeth, but I like some of the aesthetics (gymastics and so on) and also the excitement on how a finale goes. After all surprises are always possible.
I do not, whatsoever cheer for anyone in particular, I just want to have fun.

This is why I am so upset about how the media handle it. On eurosport you had real journalists and retired atheletes to comment and it was always a blast, funny and informative. They may root for an athelte but always nice, timid and from personal feelings, but never for a country. One land isn't more worth than another. Neutral, fair and professional in the best sense of the word.

But now it's ridiculous: What ARD and ZDF are doing is more like gossip with a bit of sport in between (and never forget: The Russians are the devil!!!1!) - it makes me sick, btu if I want to catch at least a few things I have no other choice.

I can agree with that one, yes. It is a chance to see sports that ain't showed on TV all the time. And it is nice to see it performed on a really high level.
As a kid I loved (for the Winter games) to watch all the artistic versions of skating - especially ice dance, cause that was less about who was the fastest, or did the most complicated jumps, but about choreography, music and aesthetics. And I guess if they ever included ballroom dancing into the list I'd watch that too

There was a time when the Olympics brought the world together in friendship. And it was exiting to watch. The moment they treated the Olympics like a business was the end of Brotherhood and good sportsmanship. Now it's politics and flat out debasing everyone else. Even when he USSR are was there, the athletes got along and respected each other. Yeah, as nations, there was animosity between the USA and the USSR, but when it came to the Olympics, there were no accusations of "They're cheating". Instead it was "Damn, that had to have been perfect". When Olga Korbet performed in the Gymnastics in 1972 and 1976, it was "Dang, We didn't stand a chance". I miss those days. Our stupid Presidential elections have turned into a media mud slinging contest. And one of those pricks is going to be the figure head of the USA. We are so screwed. Why not let a homeless person who is blind, deaf and paralyzed below the neck run the country. I think our relations will improve.

Any ways, on the real pain of the thread...... I got my hernia fixed today. My peek a boo is gone and my belly button too. Now I'll have a scar across my belly about 4" long. Problem number three taken care of. Got my happy pills, so no more of breaking computers of cell phones. Yay, I like not throwing fits. I have a cell phone that has gone 4 months without being thrown. I wish I had done this 30 + years ago. Got my toenail removed, so no more claw like thing that requires a cutting torch to trim. Yay. And my hernia is fixed. Yay. Next is the sleep study to determine if I need to wear one of those masks to get a better night sleep. Not looking forward to that. And My kidney stone may taking a hike as well. Really looking forward to that. Labor pains hurt/ And the big one. Next month, I get my back looked at to see what can be fixed there. Now that I have Sheba, I think its time to be a little more active. As it is now, I can't run(not even a jog) without having a sharp pain shooting through my carcass, instantly putting me into a stumble, followed by horizontal. After more than 20 years of neglecting my carcass, my carcass neglecting me, I finally had the means and motivation to do something about it. The motivation was my sister and her threats.
