He's been one of those people I admired while growing up.

Oh, I remember a movie... I was maybe 8 or 9 years old. A couple, dating... He was white, she was black. Then someone reported them and police did the arrest. At that age, I simply couldn't understand what was their... "crime". Movie was about a mixed couple in South Africa during apartheid.

Not so surprising after all. It was a little like waiting for it for months now. But that's how it goes - you loose, you loose again and then you loose more. No 'tragic' here though - it's just as it is. Another one gone with no one of even nearly the half of the format to come afterwards (like practically everywhere else). Like a fading picture (and also a bit like Galadriel said) - memories become history, history becomes legend and bit by bit things are lost. The only thing that's persisting is change.

He did get 95 years old... that's a lot older than most people get.

The world needs more people like him, I think, but they're way too rare.

Life is not only about losing and losing again sometimes you even gain something (ok, not everyone, not all the time).

Well - after 30 years I'm still waiting for that.

He was a great man, the world lost a hero for freedom, at least he was able to see his vision for his country men and women come true while alive.
