Re: Sam Worthington arrested
Saw that yesterday too (one of the effects of being home and sick and too tired to read is watching TV for the first time again in years). And someone obviously produced a video about it, with animated figures... leaning on the famous bar scene in the movie, where right in the scene the actor turns into Jake (tall, blue version with loincloth and all) showing the offender exactly what he thinks of someone "attacking his mate".
Ended with two shots out of the arrest cell - first the guy who started it with a sign "jackass" on his chest, then the camera swinging higher and higher and higher... to land on Jake, with a sign "badass" on his chest.
I really feel crappy at the moment, but I couldn't help but laugh at that...

Oh no! Not good news for Sam. But if the photographer did in fact hurt Sam's female companion, then I wouldn't blame Sam for punching the guy out.
Hopefully everything will be resolved okay, and Sam can get back to prepping for the Avatar sequels.
Keeping my fingers crossed for Sam!

*shakes head*
I always ask myself what kind of person such a 'photographer' (Are they really anymore? Or are they just pushing the button on the camera as soon as someone whos photo could bring money passes by?) is anyway. What the he11 are they thinking to act like that? As if 'persons of public interest' do not have the right to a private life or just to be left alone if they ask to. There are so many rules in this world, but seemingly nothing cares about getting those molesters on the line - trying to argument with 'freedom of press' while they not only don't do ANYTHING importatn with that (except satisfying the lust to have the fingers in others peoples life of their 'readers' ... something that only has been put on the plate like that by the magazines) and on hte other hand those that are doing real investigation work are held down by so many different influences ....
It's getting more and more ridiculous every year.
Another question: What would've happened if the girl had punched the guy after he tried to get to her? Isn't this self-defence then?

That's what high heels are for: that the ass kicking hurts more.
And I agree: those stupid molesting photographers get what they deserve - I sympathize with every person who at one point just is fed up and shows exactly what they think about all those vultures circling around them.
It's one thing to take pictures at - let's say - something like the Oscar show. That's an occasion for "See and be seen", that's publicity, the actors dress up and present themselves... so of course that's for taking pictures. But having a private dinner somewhere in a bar, people should just be left alone.

Pepper spray helps a lot... or, if that is illegal, stray dogs repellant (which is, technically, the same thing as pepper or CS spray).

Well, gentlemen should remain gentlemen... just like in the bar scene in Avatar
There are certain line a man should never cross when it comes to the ladies, and there can't be any negotiation about that. That is at least what my late grandpa taught me.

Kiy, what's with posting a description of that funny video, instead of a link to it?

Oh - I would have liked to, but it's so hard to get internet links from a TV show
