We all know how hard Marvel tried two years ago to beat Avatar as the number 1 grossing movie in the box office. They only barely managed it, by adding a short post credit scene to get fans to go see it again.

Of course, Avatar was always going to take that title back: with Marvel cranking out movies the need of re-releasing Endgame is non-existent, whereas Avatar was always know to re-release before the release of Avatar 2 to get people excited again. It's just going to come a little sooner than expected, because of the upcoming re-release in China this weekend.
Why this sudden re-release is not clear to me, since Disney now owns both franchises it's like having two of your kids going up against each other. But it'll be nice to have the title back in our camp. Avatar is 'only' 7.4 million behind and apparently that's not box as far as box office numbers go, so let's plan a party!
I wish I could go see it in theatres too, but unfortunately here in Canada theatres are still closed.
